Biography
Kimberly is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Iowa. Kim holds a trauma-focused and attachment perspective on how an individual’s past has influenced and affected the present. Prior to being a counselor, Kimberly served as a missionary on college campuses with Cru (formerly known as Campus Crusade for Christ). Through her years in ministry, Kimberly developed a passion for walking alongside people from every walk of life as they gain an understanding of themselves and their faith, and for others to know they are not alone in this journey of life.
In her clinical work, Kim has experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. She is actively pursuing an EMDR certification and has begun integrating EMDR methods into her therapeutic approach to support trauma processing and healing.

Therapist’s Statement
I love meeting new people, learning about different cultures, traveling, exploring, sipping coffee at a local coffee shop, and enjoying some relaxing time in the hammock. I also have two dogs and a very spoiled cat!
I enjoy working with teenagers, young adults, and adults and joining them on their journey as they navigate through past hurts and current struggles. I believe that, as a therapist, it is my job to come alongside you on your journey and work collaboratively to find holistic healing through counseling. I believe holistic counseling includes exploring how individuals are mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, as these areas all interact with one another. My goal is to provide a safe therapeutic space where we can process and work through your goals together. Counseling can often be messy and a bit scary at times, but you have a supportive guide in me for the journey. Deciding to take that first step to come to counseling takes courage. I would be honored if you chose me to walk alongside you.
